About the Pontoon Diving Boards campaign
Jon has been campaigning to install sea-based pontoon diving boards in Plymouth Sound since 2020.
Jon spends hundreds of hours on Plymouth Hoe and he remembers Plymouth's diving boards vividly — and when they were gated off and eventually removed.
Since then, Jon has watched too many people risk serious injury and their lives tombstoning.
Jon's campaign to install sea-based pontoons would make sea-based diving safer for everyone in Plymouth.
He has been working with Plymouth residents, local businesses and Plymouth City Council to make it happen.
What Jon is asking for
- Use a portion of the £9.5m National Marine Park grant to fund the pontoons
- Site them by Tinside Pool, where people already swim and dive
