Firestone Bay Swimming Platform

Jon has been campaigning to have a swimming platform installed in Firestone Bay Pool since early 2020.

Jon requested that a detailed safety survey is undertaken to ensure that having a swimming platform at Plymouth’s Firestone Bay is safe due to the riptide and currents in the area.

Jon has been working and campaigning with local sea swimmers, residents and businesses to have a Firestone Bay Swimming Platform installed.

Jon suggested using a portion of the £9.5m grant that Plymouth received for becoming the first National Marine Park to pay for three swimming platforms – two to be based in Plymouth Sound and one to be based in Firestone Bay.
