Jon has been campaigning for the reopening of the footpath between Firestone Bay by Royal William Yard to King’s Point in Millbay Marina since January 2023 after discussing it with local residents in the area. He is working with the MOD, Plymouth City Council, and the Associated British Ports (ABP) to get this done during 2024.
For years, commuters used this path daily as a shortcut to travel between Devil’s Point and Millbay. Many residents and businesses were upset and angry with the closure of this footpath as it added excessive time to their journey’s. Opening the path again would not only benefit workers and residents but would also create a picturesque route to encourage exercise and a more active lifestyle. As Jon is a proactive community campaigner who delivers results, they have asked him for his help.
